Which isn’t much, but for these over weight and lazy dogs, it felt more like 5 miles. At some point I had to carry them. The weather was the best its been for some time. I’ve never been a fan of Florida summers. Especially now, I am currently living in a room that is having A/C problems.

You haven’t experienced heat until you’ve lived in Florida for the summer. You can’t escape the heat. All fun activities require you to be outside and deal with the sun. It doesn’t help that you always have to carry around an umbrella for the late afternoon showers, which just makes it a sticky heat.

But that afternoon stroll with the pups made me realize how beautiful this state is. I’ve always told myself I’ll move to a cooler state, but for now, I’m happy to live here in the Sunshine State.

P.S. I guess I get to cross out number 20 on my list.

Enjoy the World Cup

Enjoy the World Cup

21 before Twenty-One

I’m going to turn 21 on the 21st of February 2011. I’ve been wanting to do something of this nature for some time, so here it is:

<strike>1. Become a Full-Time student. </strike>

2. Add on Pereira to my name (This is for my husband<3)

3. Go horse back riding.

<strike>4. Stop drinking soda.</strike>

5. Get back in shape.

6. Take my nieces and nephews to the fair.

7. Blog about something worth blogging about.

8. Have Zowie (my darling of a dog) not poop in our house for at least a month (she’s getting old and confused)

9. Read every Jane Austen novel.

<strike>10. Organize my closet.</strike>

11. Become more organized in general.

12. Watch every season of Lost. (I haven’t watched one episode)

13. Start cooking healthier meals.

14. Get new glasses.

15. Have Luciano get his eye’s checked.

16. Start buying staples for my wardrobe.

<strike>17. Spend the day at Disney with Luciano. </strike>

18. Get a new camera.

<strike>19. Start Budgeting.</strike>

<strike>20. Enjoy Florida weather.</strike>

<strike>21. Go to an Aquarium</strike> (or Seaworld).

I totally stole this idea from Making it Lovely. I wanted to add ride a Hot Air Ballon to this list, but I can’t find a place here in Central Florida.

A Change in the Seasons would be Nice.

I wish I could experience four seasons here in Florida. I just came back from DC and fell in love with the weather. Someday I will live in the North East. I just have to enjoy the weather here in this green house until then.

Final Frame: The State of The Internet

Final Frame: The State of The Internet

Video

Video

Anne // Santogold

See this bookcase standing on the sidewalk? No, it’s...

from decor8

See this bookcase standing on the sidewalk? No, it’s not waiting for the movers to come pick it up. And no, it’s not part of some eviction. Oh and it definitely is not an animated bookcase that came to life at night in the local library and decided to go all independent and flee the scene. This is indeed a normal, everyday bookcase with glass doors that you can open and contents inside that are 100% free to the public. No library cards, overdue notices or payment required. At this bookcase you simply visit it, find a book (or two) that you want, remove it and put it in your little tote or bicycle basket, and then go on your merry little way. The bookcase only asks that in return, you bring some of your own books back to replenish the supply. And this is not the only bookcase that I’ve located here in Hannover. There is another one near the city center. This one happens to be a few blocks from my house on Jakobistr. Of course, all of the books are in German but it encourages me even more to keep up with my studies! I want to sneak in a few of my English books next time I’m out, I’m sure some would be interested in them. :)

Don’t you love this idea of a community bookcase? I’m not sure how this would work everywhere, I mean in some cities I imagine people who take books and sell them for profit on eBay, but here it does not seem to be a problem and the bookcases always have plenty to look through on them. What do you think of this idea? Would you want something like this in your city?

In Germany, you may find these bookcases at locations listed on this page.

One Year Walk/Beard Grow Time Lapse by Christoph Rehage November...

One Year Walk/Beard Grow Time Lapse by Christoph Rehage
November 9th 2007 - November 13th 2008
one year on foot - 4646km through China
unlimited beard & hair growth

Honolulu seeks to ban bad odors on buses

Honolulu seeks to ban bad odors on buses:
notthatkindagay:

The Honolulu City Council is considering a bill that would impose up to a $500 fine and/or up to six months in jail for public transit passengers convicted of being too smelly.

The bill will be heard Thursday in committee. It would make it illegal to have “odors that unreasonably disturb others or interfere with their use of the transit system.”

Moving into this room made me realize how much a hate this glow in the dark green that is here. It’s distracting. I find myself just looking at the wall thinking how much I hate it, knowing I have plenty of chores to do. Especially now that there is only 3 days left until Luciano gets home, and this house is not in any way ready for a welcoming. I already know what color I’m going to paint this obnoxious green, but I’m looking on how to decorate it.
